Take a step back in time and relive history on the grounds of the Lehmann Mansion in Lake Villa. In 2009, over 350 soldiers and civilians relived many aspects of the 1860s. 2010 Lake Villa Township 5K Run/Walk

Lake Villa Township
Runners, walkers and everyone else, come join The Lake Villa Township for their 5K Walk/Run. Winding along a nature trial among trees and grasslands, the course provides participants with a pleasant alternative to highway/street running. This annual event now offers serious runners an extended course 10K run. Participants may run or walk the 5K course or the full 10K course. More than just a race, this event brings people together, providing youth groups and other organizations an excellent fundraising program to support their activities. This event will be held at the Lake Villa Township Park located on Fairfield Rd and Grand Ave. The course will extend through the Grant Woods Forest Preserve.

Businesses and organizations are encouraged to sign-up as event sponsors for an opportunity to be recognized on event promotions, web site, and participant T-shirts which are given to the first 200 registrants. Haunted Trail & Bonfire

Lindenhurst Park District
Find your way to fun and adventure along the winding, wooded path as the Lindenhurst Park District once again has their Haunted Trail and Bonfire. There will be spooky scenes and wagon rides, Witches' Kitchen and a kids' game tent, face painting, moonwalk, pumpkins and gourds. Be sure to catch the fun at the Cornstalk Stage. At dusk the Lake Villa Volunteer Fire Department will start the bonfire and there will be free apple cider heated in the cauldron.
